A native of Maryland , Dr. Keith settled in New Jersey to pursue an academic career at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.  After graduating from the University of Maryland he matriculated to a Top 10 medical school at the University of Pittsburgh.  While there, he was elected to serve on the AMA council and, in 2006, was awarded the Ross Musgrave, MD Award in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Keith continued his training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center--one of the oldest and most prestigious plastic surgery training programs in the country.  He participated in the country's first bilateral hand transplantation and worked with luminaries in the field of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.  His work on the topic has been published in peer reviewed journals.

In 2012, Dr. Keith was selected to be the 2012 Stephen S. Kroll fellow in Microsurgery and Perforator Flaps in Gent, Belgium under the tutelage of microsurgery pioneer, Professor Phillip Blondeel.  Dr Keith is only the 4th American to earn this distinction in the 20 year history of the fellowship.  During his time in Belgium, he learned the art of microsurgical breast reconstruction including the deep inferior epigastric perforator flap (DIEP) as well as gender affirmation surgery.
